Diablo 4 – the ultimate RPG experience
With the new release of Diablo 4 (IV), gamers will finally be able to play the game they’ve been waiting for. Diablo 4 Season 6 is coming out on 8 October 2024. This means that it will be released on the same day as the Diablo 4 expansion, Vessel of Hatred, which Blizzard, the developer of the most popular games, has been working on for quite some time. Season 6 is going to be great. Gamblers will be able to enjoy not only its content, but also have access to everything included in the expansion.
But what exactly makes the sixth part different from all the others and what makes it so special? We will answer these and other questions for you.
New adventures and challenges of Diablo 4 Season of Hatred Rising
Compared to all the other versions, the latest Diablo 4 has some changes that many gamers did not expect at all. The new season will be called the Season of Hatred Rising, which is in line with the latest Vessel of Hatred expansion. The presence of the word Hatred means that the new season will feature a battle against Mephisto, who is Lilith’s father and the master of hatred, or against his minions.
Also, the season will contain giant monsters (Realmwalkers) that carry a portal on their backs. If you defeat the monster, the portal will be activated. In D4 Season 6, they are called ‘Hell Portals’. Gamers who explore these hell portals and return will receive powerful buffs.
New Level Cap, Paragon System, and Glyphs
In the new Season 6, a New level cap has been introduced. Instead of the previous level 100, players can now only level up to 60. Levels 1 through 60 remain character levels, where you earn skill points with each level-up. After reaching level 60, players start earning Paragon points.
The Paragon system in Diablo 4 Patch 2.0 also undergoes major changes. Instead of the previous 200 points, players can now earn up to 300 Paragon points, which will play a bigger role in the endgame. One new feature is that Paragon points are tied to the realm. This means that once unlocked, Paragon points are available for all characters within that realm. This makes leveling up additional seasonal characters much easier.
Glyphs can now be upgraded to level 100, and they can be enhanced further. However, this is based on a random principle that depends on the difficulty level. In the new season, glyphs are obtained in the Pit.
Difficulty Levels in Diablo 4 Season 6
The developers of Diablo 4 Season 6 replaced The World Tiers System with a new Difficulties System, allowing players to manage challenges and rewards in a new way. The first four levels are Standard Difficulties: “Normal,” “Hard,” “Expert,” and “Penitent”. They are aimed at character development up to level 60. The higher the difficulty, the more gold and experience you can earn. After these Standard Tiers, gamers unlock new Difficulty Tiers—Torment—where greater dangers await. This is where the high-level gameplay begins. Game progress is directly tied to your achievements in the Pit. By conquering higher Pit Tiers, players will unlock even tougher Torment Difficulties.
Torment Tierss unlock under the following conditions:
- “Upon reaching level 60, the Pit and its levels from 1 to 20 become accessible. Completing level 20 unlocks “Torment I.”
- Completing Pit level 35 unlocks “Torment II.”
- Completing Pit level 50 unlocks “Torment III.”
- Completing Pit level 65 unlocks “Torment IV.”
These Difficulty Tiers and their various stages allow players to fine-tune the balance between risk and reward in Diablo 4 (IV).
Spiritborn – A New Class in Diablo 4
In the new Diablo 4 season, the developers have introduced a new class with unique abilities—Spiritborn. Hailing from the new region of Nahantu, this class combines swift attacks with magic. It wields long melee weapons like Gaives, Quarterstaves, and other Polearms. Alongside its agile close-quarters combat, it has the power to summon four spirit guardians:
- Centipede: Poisons enemies, draining their health over time.
- Eagle: Controls the power of lightning and strikes foes with rapid attacks.
- Gorilla: The tankiest of the spirits, boasting immense physical strength.
- Jaguar: Aggressively delivers high damage with fiery attacks at lightning speed.
Players can choose one guardian or create a hybrid of two spirits. This flexibility makes the Spiritborn a versatile choice for adapting abilities during combat.
New Mercenary System in the Vessel of Hatred Expansion
In the Diablo 4 expansion Vessel of Hatred, Blizzard has reintroduced the mercenary system familiar from the second and third parts. With this system, players gain powerful allies in battle. These mercenaries come with their own unique abilities and skill trees, designed to complement a character’s playstyle:
- Raheir: A seasoned blacksmith—provides excellent defensive support with his massive shield.
- Varyana: A former cannibal—relies on brutal melee combat, dealing devastating combo strikes.
- Aldkin: A half-demon creature—unleashes fire and shadow damage upon enemies.
- Subo: An archer turned bounty hunter—offers long-range support with deadly precision.
Will there be PvP in Diablo 4?
Those who would like to prove their skills against other players can also do so in Diablo IV. There will be a PvP mode in the end game. This PvP mode is optional and not mandatory. Here you fight in specially designated PvP areas, which are known as “Fields of Hatred“. The so-called “Seed of Hatred” awaits you as a reward. These seeds can then be exchanged for cosmetic content.
Thus, you can’t really gain an advantage such as gold through PvP in Diablo 4 (IV). Nevertheless, it will probably be interesting for many players in the endgame to put the different builds and skills to the test.
The Endgame
For many players, Diablo 4 is by no means over after the story. That’s when the game really begins. After you have completed the campaign and reached the maximum level, there is still a lot to do. We’ll tell you which challenges await you and what you can do in the endgame.
PvE in Diablo 4 (IV) Endgame
Once your character has reached the maximum level and the story has been completed, you can continue with the PvE content. You can enter so-called capstone dungeons. Once you successfully complete the first level, the next level will be unlocked. This makes the dungeons more and more difficult. With the increase of the difficulty level, the loot also gets better and better, of course.
The new feature here is the Dark Citadel—where you and other players dive into dungeons and take on bosses. However, players don’t start together; each one has to find their own unique path through the depths. With the new ping system, players can communicate non-verbally with their squads
If this challenge is still too easy for you, you can prove yourself in Nightmare Dungeons. This is a version of the Dungeons that is on the Nightmare difficulty level. Modifiers (prefixes) are also set, which make the whole thing a bit more difficult. The modifiers can consist of portals, for example, from which more enemies spawn.
When you finally unlock the Nightmare difficulty level, your character will gain access to the Helltide. This is an open-world event where you have to defeat a powerful demon. As a reward, you’ll receive embers that can be used to open the Hellltide Chest.
If you still don’t have enough and you’re still bored, there are still Paragon points, just like in the other parts before Diablo 4. Each point can be invested in further improvements to make your character stronger and stronger.
